Dinner and a Movie

It was a great night. Matt and I had over the Perks for dinner and a movie night. Stephen and Katie Ryan had dinner with us. Jeremy cooked his famous chicken tortilla soup. Jett is teething and he cried more than usual but he settled down and slept while we watched Boardwalk Empire. Nathan missed out.  I am not sure when he will get home. He is in Brooksville.

Ella & Fallon - Fun at Robin and Heath's

We had a wonderful dinner with Heath & Robin, Bob & Courtney, and their sweet girls Ella and Fallon. We had a Mexican menu: Spicy pork and/or chicken tacos, beans, corn salad, chips, dip, and guacamole. Robin cooked using the Frontier Woman's recipes. It was delicious. I made an ice cream sandwich desert topped with Heath bars. It was a big hit.

Fallon and Ella were hilarious with all their squealing and antics. They wore at least four different outfits each. They are so cute and precocious. Fallon has some bangs to grow back thanks to Courtney getting happy with the scissors. Court is banned from cutting Fallon's hair ever again. Fallon and Ella informed us all numerous times that they are "big kids".  The girls were so excited to see each other and they ended the night dressed in their twin bedtime outfits.

Fall is Here! Fall Flower Trivia

The History of the Red Spider Lily
In 1854 Commodore William Perry opened the ports to Japan aboard some of the U.S. Navy's first steam powered ships while under orders from President Millard Fillmore. Aboard one ship in the fleet was a certain Captain William Roberts, who had a keen eye for horticultural treasures. While in Japan, Captain Roberts acquired three bulbs of a plant with red spidery type blooms. His niece would later described the bulbs as being, "in such a dry condition that they did not show signs of life until the War between the States." These three bulbs survived and eventually thrived in their new North Carolina home before spreading across the Southern U.S.

Encouragement- Leah and Don

Isaiah 40:27-31
New International Version (NIV)
27 Why do you complain, Jacob?
    Why do you say, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord;
    my cause is disregarded by my God”?
28 Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

MSU vs Auburn! Dawg Victory! A Happy Day!

Stephen with his MSU friends. Stephen and Houston were glad to see each other.

Stephen was at the game. I am sure he had a blast. I cannot wait to hear all about it. Nathan decided that he would enjoy watching the game with his Grandaddy better so he spent the day with my parents.  I talked to them several times during the game Mama said, "Our precious Nathan is here watching ballgame with his Granddaddy. He had a ticket to the ballgame but slept too late and he said "this is exactly where I wanted to be". I made brunch for him and Tiny. Crisp bacon, fried eggs, roll, and cinnamon rolls, and plenty of coffee and sweet tea. Nathan said "I'm so happy". He sounded like Michael. Of course, we are soooo happy too."

The MSU vs Auburn game was hosted in Starkville. So Richard and Katie are hosting Katie's family. Richard's Sis-in-Law & her husband and Mother & Father-in-Law were at the game with them. As you can see they are a divided family on the issue! I am sure Katie and Richard enjoyed this victory big time. The family will be having a cookout tonight at the Red Dog and they will be dove hunting and having lunch tomorrow at Libby & Neel's. Stephen and Nathan will be joining them there. It is Richard's Birthday weekend. Matt & I might have to jump in the car and join them too. Good food and family is hard to resist.

How sweet it is! 28-10! Wrap this one up in Maroon and White!

Dan Mullen answered the reporter and he pointed up into the stadium,
"Look at this environment, look at these fans, we are building a championship team
and our fans know it!"

Yes sir Dan. Go Dawgs!! Hail State. What a GREAT victory!!
I am one of the MSU fans that knows it.

Traveling Family

Matt is in Dallas this week for work. He enjoys that auction for a few reasons. There is no connecting flight, he likes the city of Dallas, and he and his Dad get to see each other once a week now. Matt will be home in time for supper here tomorrow night. I asked Matt to take a picture with his folks there. I wonder if he will remember?

Stephen just returned from his trip to Oxford to start his work week here. Nathan is in Olive Branch tonight, and he will doing audits in several places across the state for the next day or two. Pierce is with the Governor.

I am the only one here at home so far and I have a refrigerator full of food.

Happy Birthday to Michael

Taken at Martha's Vineyard

I asked Virginia Rose to call me when she was with Michael so I could wish him a Happy Birthday. Michael sounded great and he was excited about all of the fun things he was doing on his day and this weekend with his family. He is staying in a "fancy hotel" with his Mom. He was especially excited that he got to go to Best Buy. He was also very excited that he had talked to his Dad on his Birthday. Michael likes to tell me about my brother which is his Dad. Michael said, "I talked to my Dad, your brother." Michael said his Dad is coming to see him at his school. Michael  also told me that he was going to eat with is sister. He was so polite and he thanked me for calling. He said, "Thank you Aunt" many times.  He makes my heart melt.

I also talked to Virginia Rose. She just moved this weekend from Hartford to Boston which went pretty smoothly because her company moved her.  She will be living on the Charles River in a town just outside Boston. Because she is so close, all she has to do is get on a train there to be in the center of the city. Virginia, Michael and I said our goodbyes so they could go get tacos for supper. He was so happy.
