Egg Bowl Victory- A Golden Win!!!

Mississippi State ran its way to bowl eligibility. Bulldogs rushed for 247 yards, including 144 from Vick Ballard, and State whipped Ole Miss 31-3 in a rainy Egg Bowl tonight at Scott Field, claiming a third straight victory in this rivalry series for the first time in nearly 70 years.
Relf finished with 123 total yards on just 10 rushes and 11 completions.

It's a 3-peat! Way to go Dawgs!
Hail State
Stephen, Nathan, and Sam went to the game together after hunting. I am sure they will have some good stories to tell and will have good memories of this one.

    M-Club Progress! Paneling going up

The cabin is coming along. The day after Thanksgiving Matt, his Mom, Brenna and I stopped by the M-Club to check it out. The paneling and the bead board ceiling is almost done. The porch rail is done. The lattice is ready to be installed. It is so exciting that it could be complete before Christmas. We still need plumbing, appliances, kitchen counters, and lighting. It is close to completion. We cannot wait.

After we went out to see the progress on the cabin, Mama fixed us a great lunch at her house in town.
    It was a fun day.

    Our Thanksgiving Prayer 2011

Not what we say about our blessings,
    but how we use them,
is the true measure of our Thanksgiving.

                                                                          W. T. Purkise

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about
everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him
for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6 NLT)

    Dear Lord,
2011 is a year to be very thankful. The biggest blessing that You have given us is that my Mother-In-Law, Marianne Murphy has completed chemotherapy and has had a good report. Matt and I are so grateful that prayers have been answered and your will has been done. We were so happy to be able to celebrate her recovery and victory. Nathan and Stephen are also so grateful and amazed by her great attitude. She is amazing woman with an inner strength that inspires. The hugs for her have been extra tight and our smiles have been extra bright. Thank you Lord for what you have done for our family. Our entire family praises your Holy Name for this victory and blessing.
    Amen

Happy Thanksgiving! We all love you Mom, MIL, Grandma!

    Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is Annie B. Heard's Birthday!  I am so thankful to have such a wonderful Mother. I am so grateful for the great example she has been for my entire life and always. Being her daughter is a blessing.

There is no better description of my Mother than in Proverbs. I love you Mama!
    I call you blessed.....

25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31: 25-31

    Thanksgiving came early....

Matt has been looking so forward to seeing his Dad. Saturday evening my In-Laws Mike and Vicki arrived and they were welcomed by a big early Thanksgiving dinner. We had bone-in rib eye, scalloped potatoes, and green bean bundles. The desert was cherry pie a-la-mode. It was not the traditional Thanksgiving fare but it was definitely a great meal. Matt did a fantastic job with the steaks as always. I think Mike was impressed and Vicki loved her very rare steak.  Even though Mike and Vicki had spent all day driving to get here they were not too tired to have a great family visit. A few of the subjects of the conversations were Vicki's I phone, everyone's health, my parents, Matt's Mom, our children, my job, the cabin, Doug, Brandi, Baron, of course food, remember whens, and the possibility of Mike and Vicki being Texans again!

Sunday morning we had breakfast at Another Broken Egg and enjoyed good food and fellowship. Vicki and Mike had to be to New Orleans by 2:00 so we said our goodbyes with hugs and kisses.
Happy Thanksgiving to the Murphys from the Murphys!!

    I am a proud Mama......

Tonight Phil Bryant was elected Governor of Mississippi. During the Governor's acceptance speech he thanked his staff and he specifically named my son Pierce. I nearly burst and the tears of joy rolled down my face. I am so proud of him. I am proud of all of my wonderful sons. All three of my sons have worked hard on the campaign. I am proud of their hard work, loyalty, and dedication.

Tonight I watched Nathan leave my house to go to the election night celebration. He was dressed in a suit. He turned around and looked at me and said, "I love you Mama." As he said that our next door neighbor's little toe headed boy ran by wearing rubber boots. Wow.....it seems like yesterday that Nathan was the little toe headed boy running around in his rubber boots. Time flies when my sons are making me proud.

Congratulations Pierce, Stephen and Nathan......I love you.
