M-Club Progress! Starting to Move In!!

Yesterday and today my parents and I moved in some things to the M-Club cabin. Now the boys have to go there and arrange things. I will help them with the decor. The refrigerator and stove are there and they just need to be placed by the electrician. As soon as the light fixtures are installed we can call it complete. I think Nathan will be able to stay there this weekend. We are all so excited. I will send linens with Nathan to put on the bed that we are borrowing from Tiny.

I would like to add two or three shelves above the kitchen counter and stove and a pantry cabinet in the corner by the back door. That way we can take the dishes out of the boxes. I think that brackets with planks on them would look great. The brackets would have to be strong because we have a full set of glasses and dishes. We also have a microwave and a coffee maker.  Nathan has plenty of coffee cups!

Oh what a wonderful New Year!

Mom/MIL's Christmas -Marianne Murphy - Aunt- Grandma

This year was extra special because it was the first time in years that the three sisters Marty, Amy and Marianne were together for Christmas. We had a great family Christmas at Matt's Mom's house. When we arrived we were welcomed by MIL, PaPaw and MeMaw and their bevy of puppies. We exchanged gifts with them and waited on the rest of the family to arrive. First to arrive was Brian, Matt's best friend. Then  Marty, Amy and David came. Matt was so glad to see his Aunt Marty.  The "kids" arrived later. We call Marty's children the Canadian cousins, which are Colin and Bryon. Bryon had his beautiful fiance Melissa with him.  Brenna brought them. It was a sweet blessing to have them all with us for the holidays. This was the first Christmas that Marty and the boys had without Ian. ...We missed Uncle Ian being there.  Marty and the boys seem so strong but everyone's heart had to be aching. It was also great to see almost all of Matt's cousins. Megan was at her boyfriend Joe's house so we did not get to have Christmas with her. We missed her by a day. The entire family opened gifts. Brenna and Megan outdid themselves with gift giving. As always Matt's Mom gave thoughtful and fun gifts. There were a lot of laughs. We had a wonderful meal.  Brian sang, "Merry Christmas from the Family," which was the perfect tune for the occasion. The evening ended with a rowdy game of Balderdash. It was hilarious.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE FAMILY!

Christmas Day 2011

Christmas Day was a very special day. Matt, Stephen, Nathan and I enjoyed good food and a relaxing day. It rained most of the day so it was a good thing that Nathan got Madden '12 for Christmas so that they would have something to do indoors. The gift theme this year was for the M-Club cabin. The boys got a microwave, coffee maker, weber grill, and grilling accessories. They also got some clothes.  My gifts from Matt were perfect as always. Matt liked his gifts from me. Santa filled all of our stockings.

My parents did not get to come this year. It felt strange without them here but we are planning to see them as soon as possible. We had our Christmas with them last weekend but we will be going back to Brooksville to "get" our gift from my parents. The M-Club cabin is complete and ready to move in. Maybe next year we will have Christmas at Land of Lakes.

Because Mama did not come I had to make the dressing and sweet potato casserole myself. The dressing turned out fantastic but the sweet potatoes were not as good as my Mom's.  I was so proud of my dressing because I had never attempted to make it before. I think everyone enjoyed the food.

Exciting Christmas Eve!

Mama let me know that the plumbing is finished in the M-Club. She said that Walter and Tyrone are doing the finishing touches to the cabin. This is the most exciting Christmas ever!! I cannot wait to get over there to see it! What a wonderful present my parents have given us. It is a gift that will keep giving for years and years to come!
Thank you Mama and Daddy....Fun times ahead. I love you.

Dinner was better than ever. Matt and Nathan grilled porter house steaks. Matt made fetachini Alfredo and steamed asparagus. It was the best meal ever. Matt taught Nathan how to grill steaks perfectly. The meal was served with Apothic Red wine.....DELICIOUS!
