My Lesson Today

I read the book  Auntie Claus to my students and then the students analyzed one of the two main characters in the story, Sophie or Auntie Claus. It was pretty successful considering that I had to substitute and pulled the lesson together at the last minute. They liked the story.

I will do this again with one of my groups and I will serve hot chocolate. I will save it for our party day. I will serve it with a choice of marshmallows or whipped cream and they will graph their preferences. Do you prefer your hot chocolate with marshmallows, whipped cream or both? They will make a bar graph from the data compiled from asking their classmates.

Robin Meeks Thomas- 2001 Miss Rodeo Mississippi

Robin is another one of my dearest friends. Courtney and I had so much fun watching Robin win and being involved with the pageant process. I don't think they will ever find a more beautiful, and poised queen.  This week is pageant week for Miss Rodeo USA in Las Vegas.

3rd Grade Teacher Party- My Secret Pal Poem

Dottie, Me and Neomi
Sommer and Lori

Lori's home

This is my Secret Santa Poem for the party:

Hello Noemi, I know you have been a good girl
Because I see the way your students behave
I know that you have been a good girl
I wish my handwriting could be like yours and good enough to save.

I am impressed with you each and every way
And when I see your smile it makes my day!

Well now let me tell you about me
So will you guess… let’s see?

Originally I am from a county named for stinking water
In that county there is a Dancing Rabbit and a First in State Tiger

About that county, not many can say the name.
You have roots that are the same.

I have three sons that are my heart.
I have a young husband that makes it start.

Do you have a guess whom your Santa is, Ms. Green?
If you don’t know, I might have to make a scene!!

3rd Grade Rocks!!
I love my colleagues.
It is such a blessing to work with such dedicated people.
I could not have asked for a better group to work with.

Madelyn Gray - Women to Watch: Volunteer work keeps Madelyn Gray moving

The Commercial Appeal had an article by Stacy Wiedower about Madelyn's volunteer work and this photo was in the paper with the article. It was a fantastic article and it really captured Madelyn's giving spirit and explained her work.  I am so proud of Madelyn.

Egg Bowl - We lost....The Rivalry Continues and Grows

The in state rivalry produced a surprise. Defeat is not fun. We have had the Egg Bowl trophy for three years in a row and it is so hard to lose. It seems that both schools have good coaches now and the better the SEC gets the better Ole Miss and Mississippi State recruiting gets. Fun times ahead, we will get them next year. I am looking forward to the home field advantage next year. Go Dawgs! Hail State!

Philip Chambers at the Egg Bowl
The following quote was taken from an article on MSU's Facebook page:

"The upside for the defense: senior linebacker Cam Lawrence had another stellar game, doubling his career interception total by roping in two picks. You’d have a tough time convincing me anyone on MSU’s defense has played harder or better over the course of the season than Lawrence. Any post-season accolades he earns are well-deserved."

Cam Lawrence played on the same high school team as Stephen and his buddy Phillip and we are proud of him. This is Cam's last season because is a Senior. His brother also played at Magnolia Heights and MSU. They have done a great job building a Mississippi State team to be proud of. Congratulations Dawgs for a great season.
