Egg Bowl - We lost....The Rivalry Continues and Grows

The in state rivalry produced a surprise. Defeat is not fun. We have had the Egg Bowl trophy for three years in a row and it is so hard to lose. It seems that both schools have good coaches now and the better the SEC gets the better Ole Miss and Mississippi State recruiting gets. Fun times ahead, we will get them next year. I am looking forward to the home field advantage next year. Go Dawgs! Hail State!

Philip Chambers at the Egg Bowl
The following quote was taken from an article on MSU's Facebook page:

"The upside for the defense: senior linebacker Cam Lawrence had another stellar game, doubling his career interception total by roping in two picks. You’d have a tough time convincing me anyone on MSU’s defense has played harder or better over the course of the season than Lawrence. Any post-season accolades he earns are well-deserved."

Cam Lawrence played on the same high school team as Stephen and his buddy Phillip and we are proud of him. This is Cam's last season because is a Senior. His brother also played at Magnolia Heights and MSU. They have done a great job building a Mississippi State team to be proud of. Congratulations Dawgs for a great season.

November 20th 1930- Annie B Brown Heard Was Born - She is my mother....

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
 Washington Irving

I love you Mama! You are my best friend and I am blessed to have you as my Mother. Thank You for all you do.... Happy Birthday!

Stephen Hog Roasting @ the MSU Junction!! MSU Victory

Stephen and his friends were on ESPN and CBS.
They were carrying this Hog through the MSU Junction!!
Go Dawgs! The Bulldogs beat the Hogs.
WE WON 45-14!!

Nathan didn't make it to the game in person. He watched it with his grandparents.
This was what Mama said about the day,

"Tiny has sooo much fun when a grandson watches football all afternoon with him. I carried food to Tiny and Nathan from lunch until LSU beat Ole Miss. Homemade turkey pot pie, apple pie and blue bell icecream, sweet tea. Before that, they had orange breakfast rolls and coffee. I then made a choc./ cherry cake--left the house to get vanilla wafers for a banana pudding--when I got back, they had cut the cake. Tiny said he knew he wouldn't get in trouble since Nathan did it!!! Ha!! A wonderful day to be alive!!"
