American Idol Concert

Tonight was the American Idol Concert. Ashley Simmons was my guest because my Mom-In-Law Marianne Murphy was not feeling well. Just as we came into the concert I called my MIL to thank her and guess what came on the big screen? Elvis and then an advertisement for Graceland. That was great timing on the call! All of the Idol stars were great...Skylar and Phillip got the most cheers. Colton and Joshua next. I thought Elise was amazing and so did the crowd. It was a fun night.  Thank you Elvis and MIL for the tickets and backstage pass. There were only ten of us with yellow passes and that meant that we met all of the stars with the exception of Skylar. She had a separate event and her fans wore green passes. There were a ton of people with green passes so I am glad we had the yellow.

Heard Family Reunion Weekend

My Daddy Tiny and his brother Johnny....I am not sure which brother gave my daddy the nickname Tiny.
Uncle Johnny is only a little older than daddy so it was probably Uncle George or Uncle Jimmy.
The brothers gave Aunt Sis her nickname Sis too.
 Elizabeth, George, James, John, and Sam are their real names and each were named for their ancestors.

The food was so good. We had all of the traditional dishes. Little Tiny's BBQ, some good country vegetables and some delicious deserts.  The dish that Renee's little boy is pointing to is Orange Delight. Mama is fixing Aunt Sis's plate. 

The two dots are eyes.....An owl landed in the front yard of the cabin. I tried to make its picture.

On the porch, I hung the letter M in several fonts and colors. I hope the boys and Matt like it. 

Matt's Birthday Fun

Matt's Birthday party was a Mexican Fiesta. The taco bar had the choice of beef or salsa chicken with all the taco fixings. Matt made the guacamole which is his new specialty. For drinks we served lemonade for the kids and Margaritas as the adult beverage. For desert there was cheesecake and Matt's favorite frosted cookies.  The guests were the Frisbys, the Perks, the Halls, the Youngs, and Mike, Marc, Stephen and Nathan.... and a bevy of children. The kids were Fallon, Jett, Arron, Ayden, Harley and Alex. Oh... and Peanut the Min-Pin Puppy. Haley was in LA, Ashley had a virus, and Jackie had to teach. We missed them. I think Matt had a great time and received some great gifts....including a pineapple!!!
